My name is kirsty and I am from Lancashire uk.
      I am31, and I have had T since about 2001/2002. I think.
it happened after my mum died of cancer just before I was 16, then my grandad to lung cancer and gran two years after that. I honestly don't know how it came about. I have always had trouble with waxy ears and a perforation as a kid and allergies. That hasn't changed lol.
the docs are still ignorant and unhelpful the ent isn't much better with no idea about T. I now have a retracted ear drum which has terrified me when I googled it. Which I think is due to a sinus infection which I have again! And my doc says I have yo wait it out. But I am on flucloacillin for something else so hoping that helps. As my T is keeping me up or waking me up at silly hours which sets my anxiety off.
so any advice on iffy sinuses would be ace xx

I've had some awful sinus issues and am around your age. I ended up using flonase (steroid inhaler) for about a year daily and my neti pot on and off daily for a year. Now it seems my sinus cavities drain more and I have more of a post nasal drip thing going on but it's definitely better then the stuff sinus' that I used to have. As far as the T goes, I say just try to live with it... that seems to be my latest deal. Though I will say I've had some minor success with Lipoflavanoid Complex (Bioflavanoids / B vitamins, Choline Bitartrate/Insitol), Definitely Magnesium Citrate (Should help with your sleep a bit), and Zinc. I also know I'm prone to the placebo effect but whatever works works right? Good Luck.

P.S. Stay away from taking Benzo's for a long period of time if you can...I know from experience (Been taking one for years and need to get off and it's going to be hard!)

Thanks soul. What are benzos? I'll give the vits a whirl and see if they help. I am normally alright with my T but this sinus infection has thrown me as I don't normally get them. I am normally just snotty. I was glad of the stuffyness I didn't realise I was ill until I blew my nose and got face pain and fullness feeling ears lol xx

Benzos are diazepam, lorazepam, xanax etc.
They calm your brain down within minutes. So it is good against panic for short-term.
And since T is a brain thing, they will also lower your T for some hours.
But they are addictive and therefore only be used in worst cases, but not for longer usage (weeks or months).
At least this is what I was told and have learned here.
Better would be meds against depression and/or anxiety.
I take Mirtazapin (Remeron) against depression and as sleeping aid.
