Hey guys, I'm not currently as active as I used to, as I've *finally* been diagnosed with some serious mental stuff that needs to be taken care of :) tinnitus is still going strong and I have some questions and worries about picking up on football practice again.
When thinking about it my head has always had some magical attraction to the ball, and what I fear is having it kicked at my ears, should I worry? Considering how much it will give me I'd be devastated not to go. Most of the time it'll be indoor I think

Damn Tenna I know how you feel :/ I have been keeping on my standard weightlifting & interval training regimine for years (before and through my T, booya) but I haven't played sports in years and I definitely share some of the same worries.

(This is probably terrible for me to say...) My brother got tinnitus from playing dodgeball. His dropped bigtime and he barely has it anymore, but I think his case was an anomoly anyways because I've had shit hit me on the head time after time (including during sports) and I've never had a single problem. It's easy to worry about these things but they never actually give you a problem (of course, until we get unlucky at times :(. but you cannot live your life around those bad situations!)

I say go play the sport. It's always tons of fun and it's important to get intense excercise, and as a player myself its one of my favorite activities to get muh blood pumpin. DO IT!

Hey Tenna I stopped playing soccer for a while when t started but I am playing regularly again. Soccer or football as our non American friends call it is one of the most important parts of my life. I will admit that I'm not as aggressive as I once was because of the fear of getting hit in the ear or head. But I still play. I don't go chasing down goalkeepers as they try to clear the ball or jump in front of shots as much. I would say go and start slowly see how comfortable you are. On another note I've never been hit in the ear in 10+ years and my dad played longer and he never did either. Good luck and take care.

I've been playing soccer to distract me from T...for me it only spikes a bit but goes back to my normal T. Go out there and play man. Don't let T disrupt you fron what you love the most!

It's settled, going today! Guess it's a plus that it's a girl team too, also that Itend to be one of the more aggressive ones, to preventively let people know not to get after me :p especially not my ears!

If you thought women's soccer was "tame", then don't forget to watch the following (in)famous youtube clip with Elizabeth Lambert... [The pony tail pull-down is absolutely brilliant... :)]

!!MEAN SOCCER PLAYER (ELIZABETH LAMBERT) SPEAKS!!

...and another which is also worth a brief mention, in my humble opinion :)

Why have I never watched those vids before, faith is restored :p Male football come off so primitive, biting eachother is the ultimate kindergarden weapon, while those women have some sophisticated ways of beating. I'm so proud!

Here is a bit more footage of the "talented" Elizabeth Lambert (for those who didn't get enough of her first video). If only the tinnitus researchers of today would equal her skills at "foul play" in their respective field, then a tinnitus cure would already be a thing of the past, I should think...
