      Hi Everyone,

Glad to have found this forum. The ringing in my head is terrible. It will be good to be part of a community who understands this problem. It is like water torture that slowly wears you down. People I know who don't have the problem just can't appreciate the annoyance it causes. Glad to be part of the group.

Hello and we are glad to have you. Welcome... Indeed this forum is excellent. I am learning much . Have you tried heat on your ears, hair dryer, heating pad, etc? I love my old cotton sock filled with dried beans and tie at the top and heat to very warm in microwave and put on the back of my neck , on the ears, etc...
I decided years ago I would at least try to comfort myself if I am forced to live with tinnitus. Humming your favorite songs releases endorphins for you to be comforted. Face tapping helps too as that also releases endorphins. Also infrared heat cures some people of tinnitus but just lowers the volume and makes me very content, I have a wand that is infrared heat and massage , good too.

Thanks for the advise, Sandy. I will try using heat. Have you tried any of the vitamins and herbs mentioned in some of the other posts. The ENT today suggested Lipoflavonoids? However, I don't see any convincing evidence that these help, but a few indicate positive results.

Hi. Hope that you're feeling fine even with that noise. When it comes to medicines, vitamins, etc, only you can know if it works if you try it. Everyone has their own way of dealing with this problem, even if two people have the same causes.

Welcome to the forum @RonT . If the T makes you feel terrible, try masking asap if you haven't yet. I used to mask all day just to prevent panic attacks from hearing my ultra high pitch loud dog whistle T. Here are some suggestions. God bless your recovery.

      1) Mask at bed time so you can sleep better. Find whatever sounds/music that are soothing to you. You can use a sound machine or sound pillow for this, or a computer with speakers.

      2) If you need masking on the go, try load an ipad with nature sounds or music using itune, or use smart phone. You can also order some nature sounds via ‘itune’ to play on your PC.

      3) If you have computer and speakers, you can try these excellent masking sounds:

      TT's audio player: https://www.tinnitustalk.com/audioplayer/

or this online sound library, particularly the self-mix nature sounds: http://mynoise.net/

or download free sound generator ‘aire freshener’: http://www.peterhirschberg.com/mysoftware.html

or search youtube with words like 'tinnitus masking sounds', 'white noise', 'rain sound' etc.
