      Hi all,

Two days ago, I had an ENT appointment. At the end, he thought it would be a good idea to check my otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) to determine cochlear health. The test measures up to 10000 Hz.

Shortly after the probe was inserted, the sound began to play and it was too loud, so I halted the test immediately after about 10 seconds.

I’m now dealing with a very bad tinnitus spike. Anyone else have this experience?

I am taking Prednisone in hope that it subsides. I hope this worsening isn’t permanent.

Hi @Emgee I think my tinnitus started when I was listening to a frequency sound sweep from 10htz to 20k htz using a Bose noise canceling head set, even on the lowest volume setting. very unfortunate, I hope you are feeling better.
