The fact that you experience silence at all is a fantastic sign you might fully recouperate

Almost a year since tinnitus set in. Has not increased in intensity and there is no hyperacusis.

Almost 4 months since tinnitus onset and it hasn't worsened at all. Taking it in stride (it doesn't bug me at all).

Doing great. Tinnitus is the same. Mostly been mild but some spikes to moderate. No hyperacusis.

That's very good. Hopefully, ALL of us here on this forum can say the exact same thing one day.

My tinnitus spiked to 7 out of 10 during the last few minutes of my shift at work today. The spike was brief, thankfully.

Just listened to the Hearing Test HD video and I can hear up to 13000 hertz. Improvement from not hearing beyond 12000 hertz.

I wonder how many people have deeply regretted going to an ENT that worsened their tinnitus. FYI I didn't visit and ENT thank goodness.

The ent made a hole in my eardrum, he knew I was suffering why he had to cause more trauma.... :(

This morning in the 5 AM hour, my tinnitus spiked to 7 out of 10. Wasn't fun at all. Thankfully the spike didn't last long.

I can't tell if my tinnitus is caused by my middle ear or my inner ear. It doesn't seem to be coming from my inner ear.

Just found out that listening to those really high frequencies that you cannot hear at full volume is damaging to your ears. Whoops!

I'm not sure how long I've been deaf to anything past 13 khz. I think it must have been since I was a child.

If my tinnitus was a 9 it would have been DEAFENING. Why did I think my tinnitus was a 9 back in late August? It was actually 6 out of 10.

My tinnitus was almost nonexistent yesterday. Today it's a solid 5 out of 10.

The nasty cold that I suffered from did not worsen my tinnitus. It stayed the same. Tinnitus has been really quiet today, though.

4 weeks since tinnitus onset. Fluctuates between mild and moderate tinnitus. The moderate tinnitus is when it spikes.

From 12500 hz to 20000 hz I couldn't hear anything. Must be deaf to those frequencies. Or it could be normal. I don't know.

Oh you do have hearing loss, we all do. My audiogram was good again yesterday, but I damaged inner, outer hair cells, and synapse ribbons so. I have hidden hearing losss, if you do speech in noise you will see itl

Normal for 32 year old is about 15500 hertz. You have done a fair amount of damage. You don’t even have to get significant damage to get T. I can hear 18000 hertz, and mine is ultra high pitched.

The ENT ear tests can and do make tinnitus permanently worse. I haven't had my ears tested thank goodness.

By all means do an audiogram and speech in nose, word recognition but ECOG/VEMP/ACOUSTIC are extremely dangerous for us!!!! I have damaged

Going to an ENT would likely make my tinnitus much worse (if they do a hearing test such as the VEMP). Not worth the risk.
