Tinnitus is just as life-threatering as any severe mental illness.

It is bothersome, but it, in of itself, is not life threatening. "Life threatening" is a medical term used to describe a disease or injury that by itself can kill you. It would be factually incorrect to use that term to describe tinnitus.

This condition causing eternal mental torture is life threatening in the extreme !!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is equating "non-life-threatening" with "merely bothersome." Some non-life-threatening conditions can be fates worse than death.

@SugarMagnolia - so true that there are "fates worse then death" - there are many illnesses and conditions, severe T with H included, where I would certaintly prefer death. Death is not something I am to scared of......suffering endlessly is!
