It's hard to know sometimes. I know I wake up to my worst noise. You are young so it could improve. I don't know if inner ear hair cells repair themselves at all in humans.
I feel almost exactly the same way, maybe just a little bit more positive about my improvements because I at least haven't had anymore spikes recently...
"It is normal for T to slide back after an improvement. The daily fluctuations are irrelevant. What is important are the global lows and the monthly trend. If you have been experiencing some fading, this is a wonderful news. In a year or two you will feel a lot better."
I wouldn't be making that comment if I wasn't convinced that it was true. This is something I learned as a result of having T and reading this forum for many months. Feeling better (on average) compared to a month or two ago is all that matters.
You could talk to Dr. Shulman. He wrote books about tinnitus. He would know a lot more than anyone here. I’ve been talking to him lately. Even stress could cause tinnitus. I don’t know if you had any stressful things happen at the time you first had tinnitus? The brain can do some weird things to people under stress.
