    Tinnitus Since:
    07/2010
I have joined on behalf of my husband, Ian, who has been suffering with head noise for a few years.
The neurologist put him on Idaptan which was like a magic red pill, as the noise disappeared within 48 hours. He remained on that for 3 years. The about a year ago he started to develop Parkinsons symptoms. After investigation, it was discovered the pill had caused the symptoms. The blessing is that he does not have true Parinsons and the symptoms he has are controlled and will not progress.
The bad news is that since he stopped Idaptan the noise has returned in force. Alternative meds to increase blood flow have not helped at all.
The ENT guy referred him back to the newurologist who has just told him that nothing can be done to help, no operation, as it is due to circulation and nerve damage issues.
He has started physio, but the relief is minimal if any. He has found hot/cold pads give him some relief, but minimal.
    The noise is 24/7.
It is very debiitating and has deeply effected his/ our quality of life, as he struggles to concentrate or communicate, so severe is the noise.
We both need help and support!
