Can noise induced tinnitus get worse because of stress? Apr 9, 2024

It feels weird, me trying to hold on, to get a few more years under my belt before my inevitable early death.

Yeaaah man. I wonder how do people who have this for years manage. In the fb group, a lot of people have it for a lot longer. I am tired and defeated in just months.

@RishRamsey 8 months ago basically anything. Running water, opening doors, walking, and even chewing induced symptoms or setbacks (and this was while I was wearing plugs and muffs). Now, I can walk through my home with only plugs and I can eat, open doors, take a bath, walk, and whisper a bit without pain.

@Labyrinthine Same here. Literally anything triggers the symptoms.
One thing - when you wore the muffs for too long, did it create the pressure in your ears?
Like whenever i remove the muff, there is always some kind of pressure.

So I have to pop my ears continuously to relieve some of it. Maybe I am removing them too fast so that creates some kind of vaccuum?

@TheDanishGirl - I am really sorry to hear that :( I also read about eye flashes and retinal detachment, that shit sounds scarier than hyperacusis.

@TheDanishGirl - People are telling me to look for eye flashes, but i don't know how they look. like what to look for? Do you have any idea? Like my vision seems a bit off, like I was looking at the washing machine right now and it seemed a bit off, like something was in b/w my eyes and the very dark colored washing machine.

Can they be floaters, obstructing my vision, if I couldn't see them properly while looking at the washing machine? Or was it something else?

I feel ya. My workplace is luckily locked down the rest of april, maybe longer (it is an activity center for the elderly, so to risky opening it just yet). I also fear going back eventually as my H is quite troubling these days.

I feel the same way, Rish. I am so sorry you have so much pain.

I think we all have a multitude of symptoms and complexities making it a unique personal struggle. I am very envious of those with just T. I read all day looking for those that have the same, but haven't found anyone exactly the same.

I hope relief comes soon to you.

Don’t wear muffs in silence, it makes things worse. Your commute to work sound stressful and damaging. Perhaps with C.Virus you can work from home. Or take an absence from work? Like I said, H shut me down...full stop. Good luck

@Candy, we do. But I can't enjoy it because my house is a corner one (next to a main road with constant traffic and horns). It's a quiet neighborhood, all the other homes are pretty quiet but just the fact that mine is the corner one, with a road that connects to the main road is hell for someone with H.

I really envy all my friends who have houses in the middle or end of the neighborhood. It's so quiet, but no, not mine because of this stupid road which everyone has to take to go to main road. And it's hell from 8 AM - 11 PM. FML! Would need to soundproof my fucking home!

And the fun fact, people actually pay more to be in a corner house, because it gets 3 sides open, and a bit bigger than the middle houses. lol. And I'd pay a ton more to move into one of the middle one's, just to get away from this road.
