@Mymlan Hi again, a question for if you ever log in again, you mentioned in your success story that you had sound distortion. Did this ever happen when you spoke or with other people's voices? Thank you.

19 months and tinnitus did fade alot compared to how bad it was. The noise used to be a 8-9/10, now it is a 2-3/10.

@Mymlan @Steph1710 Yeah, totally get why you would want to wait. If one of my symptoms abates, I'm scared to say anything for the same reason. But I'm really pleased for this positive turn you've both experienced, and long may it continue :)

        Hey, @Mymlan.
        So happy that you've improved!
I'm 3 months in and while my T has been fairly stable, it seems to have worsened slightly even though I protect my hearing religiously. Has your spiking lessened as you've improved?

@Stacken77 actually mine got worst the 3 first months. But now my tinnitus will spike for lesser reasons.

I haven’t really improved for quite a while now, and my noise seems to be stable. So I’m not sure that this will ever go. It did improve compared to how bad it was, but the multiple tone orcestra is still very much there.

@CAgirl I’m so sorry this happened to you. I know exactly how you feel and I’ve been saying the exact same things to myself many times.

Noise traumas usually gets better, but the recovery is just very slow. My T is still very much there but it has reduced quite a bit. You are early in and chanses are still good for you to improve.

Thanks Mymlan. Do you have a noise trauma too? I would be asleep by now, but just as I was falling asleep a new lower tone started going in my left ear. That’s my problem ear. My usual one is hissing, this is much lower pitched and a definite ring.

I don’t know why this new tone began. At first it was fleeting, then it came back and hasn’t stopped in over 30 min. It’s somewhat maskable but loud. Ugh. I see you had something similar happen?

In fact, the same thing (a shock causing a new sound) has recently happened to me. I am telling myself to wait about 3 months before worrying that the new sound being here to stay.

I’m not sure if the tone was there all the time and that maybe this shock created a spike, or if it is a completely new tone.

I get that too! Pretty much every other symptom has died down substantially and I don't get any immediate discomfort around noise/distortion except this intermittent pain that comes and goes at random- hard to describe, it's sort of stabbing except it feels like warm liquid lol. What's yours like? And is it also random? Praying this will go away - it just worries me how there's nothing to provoke it...

Yes around 11 months. I do want to be clear that H is not gone. It’s still there, but last summer I was homebound. Compared to that it is a major improvement.

Tinnitus is still annoying as hell, and it can also be quite loud at times. Mainly I have 2 tones left, and I can still hear some of the old tones, but they’re not there all the time. My 2 permanent tones I hear all the time though.

Those pauses in healing can last months. The more it heals, the slower it heals. Give it another 1.5-2.5 years and you ought to get your life back.

It has faded yes. It does fluctuate like crazy and goes between a 2-5. First it was a 3-8. I’ve also noticed that my multiple tones are getting lower. I’m loosing some tones, but still I have T, multiple tones, sound distortion, H and earfullnes.
I hope I will continue to improve.
