    It is normal for T to spread to both ears. Mine spread to the formerly good ear after about 9 months.

    @Bill Bauer I’m just curious if the new tone will go away, since it seem to be quite mild? Still very annoying of course, like a electric noise. I’ve got it from a loud scream.

    Most spikes that involve the existing tone getting louder are temporary. I can't recall reading about what happens when a new shock creates a new tone. Well, one case does come to mind, and in that case the tone ended up being permanent - but that's only one case...

    In fact, the same thing (a shock causing a new sound) has recently happened to me. I am telling myself to wait about 3 months before worrying that the new sound being here to stay.

    I’m sorry that this happened to you. Let us hope that this is temporary for both of us.

    I’m not sure if the tone was there all the time and that maybe this shock created a spike, or if it is a completely new tone.
