Hi Myles, I think the distortions improved over time although sometimes I notice them more than other times. My hyperacusis has worsened unfortunately so also too caught up in that to give attention to the distortions.

    damn, thats horrible.
It seems like it subsides for most people so i guess we just need to take it one day at a time.

In my case it never went away. It fluctuated and there was a period that was better, but it's has been at its worse since 3 weeks. This along with a physical sensation in the ears.

Hi Miles, How are you feeling? I've started having the distortions since probably a month ago... Id say since all this covid situation started. I am quite nervous, I could say its anxiety related? cheers

    Hi Louise and Vermillion.
Yes the distortions are still there they have been with me since the beginning, around ten months ago.
Some people believe they are a byproduct of something called ttts. In my case, other symptoms of ttts will occur right along side the distortions so I think that there is a real possibility of this being true.

You will find quite a few members on here that have had it go away.
So I think we should stay hopeful at the very least.
I was able to get a hold of my anxiety by reducing outside stress and exercising.

@mylesm Hello again. A member here indicated TTTS to me. I think that's also my case given that I get physical sensations inside my ear which are extremely uncomfortable.

In my case I don't have any reason to believe that it will subside, given that fact that I had this mild for 3 years already. It never went away. Yet it was really bearable. However you are right. I read so many peoples' testimonies of remission.

Here in Melbourne, Australia we have a highly regarded Audiologist, Myriam Westcott she suggested based on her research that it is TTTS. So it is at the very least comforting to put a name to this condition. I used to also get these sensations. Can I ask Vermillion out of curiosity, have you been keeping fit and healthy?

@mylesm It is also comforting to know that you have access to an audiologist that at least knows what TTTS is. I would much appreciate if you could tell me, whether she suggested to you ways to alleviate this.

@mylesm If there are any. As far as it goes in regards to my fitness, I did manage to keep up with exercising during the first 2 years. This year it was less and I was trying to work out intermittently. Atm I do nothing. I gained weight, eat bad and stay in bed.

I take courage from my cousin who has schizophrenia. He hears voices in his head telling him to kill himself. He still pushes on everyday, for 5 years now. He takes celebrates the small improvements and is still grateful to be alive and has made some adjustments in his life.

There was always going to be pain in life anyway. That was a certainty. I think we will still get enjoyment and fulfillment out of life and we can still be excited about the future. This is our crazy life and all we can do is take it one day at a time. I will get back to you about the TTTS we could be on to something maybe there are ways of keeping on top of it.

Hey Miles, I am also in Melbourne Aus, where is this audiologist located? I havent had any other syntoms related with ttts :S and IT happened just like that. The good thing lately is that I don't feel nervous about it anymore. It is very unconfortable.. but hoping it will fade away. good knowing there is another person with the same, and in the same city!

Yeah it fades away for most people it appears so there is good reason to be hopeful. The audiologist is in Heidelberg they are called DWM audiology. What other stuff have you got going on? Just the distortions?

Hi Myles, I have had tinnitus from 2018 apparently stress related. its been ongoing. the distortions are new to me, started coincidentally when all the COVID-19 situation began. aaand sometimes I have sound sensitivity like when I am on a videocall I need to lower down the volume, or the dishes clanging. Also, I have ETD but its very mild.

( I discovered I had ETD last dic when I had a flight and my ears hurted so badly when landing ( first time that happen to me ever) )
. but I think is allergies related. I don't have symptoms on a regular basis about it)
