If I could just get some sleep I would be alright. Nothing masks this beast when I'm trying to sleep.

I noticed that my room is so quiet. Like less than 30db for sure. Maybe I should stop trying to sleep in my room.

Can you use masking for sleep? You mentioned in another post that you heard almost silence at one point, so I would suggest trying not to monitor the Tinnitus as much as you possibly can, and you may find it just fades away.

@Tanni I tried putting on a fan but it was unpleasant and I could still hear the tinnitus. Currently I have opened my window and have a clock ticking. The night before I was actually able to fall asleep without any aids.

Yeah I've heard silence a few times already, well unless I plugged my ears to check, then it's technically still there. I guess I'm constantly thinking about it and its not helping my situation. I need sleep and a full brain reset or help. Thanks for the response thought.

Just assuming this is not gonna go away. Hopefully it gets better. If my right ear somehow just stops buzzing and feeling these sensations then I'll be ok.

Try playing nature sounds like the sounds of crickets. The idea is not to play the sounds so loud that you can't hear T. The idea is to give yourself something else to listen to, besides T.

Sounds really promising, like it's going away already. Keep distracting yourself as much as possible, and don't plug ears to listen -- I think everyone will hear some noise if they do that. It's very hard not to worry about it, I know, but time will help with that.

@Bill Bauer I tried using an app called headspace to distract my mind and it gave me a couple hours of rest. I may try audiobooks or youtube videos in the background to fall asleep to.

@Tanni Yeah I'm trying to do that. I just get so anxious and don't feel like myself and I can't function. I was able to get a few hours rest and then woke up and did some phone searching. Afterwards I noticed the tinnitus started to get less intense. I had a coffee and I started feeling like normal again. The T was pretty quiet for a decent while. Kinda is back now.

For the most part my T isn't even a ringing. There may be the slightest tone but its very low. However, in the right ear its a pretty moderate static hissing/electrical sound which can get pretty loud. The left ear also gets louder when in a quiet room but that's more like a pulsating sound (crickety?). Usually this stuff is coming with head and ear sensations.

I also noticed that my left ear gets louder when I plug it in but my right ear doesn't really get louder anymore. Idk what any of this means or if its good signs. I guess its good that there isn't tones really present and its mostly static sounds and sensations.

Anyways, thanks guys for the support. It's been helpful and I don't think I could make it without the support. Sometimes I cannot really hear it and I feel normal again. I guess this is good and hopefully this continues to be the case.

Yes, Tinnitus generally does fluctuate A LOT at the start. That's totally normal and expected. As time goes on, it will generally settle down and lessen, if not disappear. Try to only read the success stories on this site if the support forum is making you anxious, and give it time.
