Hi! So glad to have found this forum - kicking myself for not joining years ago. Thanks for your kind welcome.

Just a silly question - I want to change my user name (dunno why I used my actual name) to something else, but there doesn't seem to be an option for this? Any ideas?

hi dez dog thank you for your response i will be getting testing done in about two weeks since PT is different from the normal tinnitus i can only trust they will find the underlying cause and rectify it......how are you going with it have you been to ENT people jennifer

        DezDog
I went to ENT originally, and was very suprised to learn my hearing was excellent. I am sure my T comes from playing in a loud rock band, so was puzzled. It gave me hope really that it was more anxiety related, and I think that started me on the road to complete habituation.

I accept it's not as bad as it could be, but I couldn't face life for a while with what I do have. I really hope (and fully expect) you find some peace and happiness soon.

Sorry to hear about today's loudness. I think being tired is definitely part of it. Once you start wondering about a connection, you can't help but hear it more too. You can't win sometimes. I hope tonight and tomorrow is better for you

HI Dez went to doc today have burning sensation at back of head i think it nerve damage put me on neurontin is it wise to take this or is there something better
      1. DezDog
        DezDog
Hi Andy, glad to hear you've been to docs. Neurontin is gabapentin, and there have been some posts on the forum about it that you might want to check out; I haven't used it myself, and no nothing about it, other than what I've read here. Burning sensation sounds painful, hope you're well soon Andy.,

hi dezdog how long do you think a temporary crutch for meds are ? and what meds are you takeing ? i think you said prozac . thanks jack
      1. DezDog
        DezDog
In *theory*, it's to get you back to a normal life, back to where you can cope . You can't really think beyond that point, but when you get there, you're in a better position (stronger) to think about when you want to come off them. It might be 6 -12 months. Personally, I'm predisposed to depression and anxiety, so I'm not sure when I will come off them. Everyone is different though.

Sorry to hear you're suffering with the anxiety. Are you on any medication to help with that? It need only be a temporary crutch

        DezDog
Hi Jack, not so bad. I can't tell if the hissing is louder or that I just am noticing it more. I'm still sleeping and I think that I should be thankful for that alone. How are you my friend?

hi dezdog it seems every other day bad anxiety and lets up a little before bed ruff going .trying ten mg of dhea today jack usa .

        DezDog
Is it like one good day,& then you set up your hopes for the next day?The anxiety at the end of the good day is hard to deal with ("let tomorrow be good.."). I'm not sure what the answer is-sometimes it was getting up straight away, but it was hard. Keep plugging away at it - deal with the anxiety & then everything else is manageable.

Hi Jack, I'm anxiety-free, but still on the meds. I don't see myself coming off them anytime soon. How are you doing?
