YES. My hyperacusis is always more focused in the high frequencies. Eventually it settled down, and those high frequencies were not "sharp" and "overdriven" anymore. Because I had gotten used to it, I thought there was a problem, but it was the hyperacusis that had resolved for daily noises (for the most part).

@Diesel, that makes me feel better. Trucks passing by my house don't sound as loud. I sat in the kitchen while the dishwasher ran a full cycle. I have not done this in 7 months. I can turn on the dryer without running out of the laundry room. How long before the hyperacusis improved for you?

@twa I've had 3 considerable setbacks with hyperacusis. All three times, it was about 3-4 months until the "everday" low level sounds stopped causing reactivity/issues: Silverware, dryer beeps, car door closing, certain TV shows. At about 6-months, louder stuff didnt cause as much aggrivation ex: neighbor's leaf blower, motorcycles (at a distance), vacuum cleaner in the next room.

@twa I'd say I at that point im 80% in good shape at 6mo when I take proper care. However, I have learned that the hyperacusis "ceiling" is still there if I'm not careful, and the recovery can start all over again from getting overconfident. So, just because you start feeling improvement, doesn't mean you still should be prepared to protect/avoid if things seem loud.

@Diesel thank you for the info. Setbacks are rough. It's good to know that there's a need to remain cautious. I'll keep carrying my Westones when I'm out and the foam ones for walking outside and when the kiddo is loud. I was hoping that once recovered everything would be ok, but nothing with the ears seem that easy. It's just nice to have a little reprieve from the last 7 months!
