Martin, it's the same where I live. Every other vehicle of every description is well over 100 decibels. I hate them.. And with the 4th of July around the corner, here come the nightly firecrackers. How are your ears doing? David's t mix definitely helps me btw...

Theres always loud motorbikes that set off cars alarm in my city. And kids playing with firecrackers. Life sucks with T and H.

I tried that in the first months of my T onset so i developped H and it was very bad. Now I bought musician earplugs only with 16db attenuation and they are good but i cant wear them all the time. when im inside home theres always kids playing with loud firecrackers they always through it and run and I get 97db and 100db on my sound meter. If im in the garden or in my balcony I get 105 and 110db.

Those firecrackers are illegal and can reach 128db at one meter but it is everywhere here as it is 3rd world. It is the fav game of kids in summer here. Many of kids here get NIHL at young age but parents arent aware of it

We all didnt know what Tinnitus and hearing damage is before we got it. And once we got it... Bam it is permanent. How cool is that?

Cant be positive with severe T at young age. Knowing that hearing can only get worse overtime and thus increase of T. It is a vicious cycle.

Yes, I’ve had permanent improvement of my tinnitus volume. It took over a year before I saw any improvement and it was not linear. I have a bunch of other issues though and when one gets better another seems to crop up so it’s a balancing act it seems. H and Noxacusis, ETD, TTTS...

If T is not caused by HL but other causes (middle ear probs, tumors, jaw, neck) can the hearing loss gets worse if the cause left untreated?

Its genetics. Some people are prone to ear damage more than others. I discovered that my wholefather family have this condition but they all got it after 50. I am the only one who got it at 20s because i speeded up my hearing loss due to noise exposure so yea i blame myself.

But shes complaining about how I am reading too much about Tinnitus and hearing online and constantly experimenting things myself trying to cure myself. She is right. I became a diff person. Tinnitus does change you. my partner admits that he does not understand the suffering, but will try his best to support me. All I said to him was "try to listen to a beep sound on youtube for 24 hours straight, and tell me how it feels afterwards, except I don't get rest of it ever again" it really does make people think. He didn't do so , and I wouldn't want him to, but its just the thought of it...

I've had 3 audiograms over the last 3 years. One when I got tinnitus. One when I went to get evaluated for Lenire. And one in February this year. They were all the same, more or less.

        Spiramycin : 1 500 000 U.I.
        Metronidazole : 250mg

I have a throbbing tooth pain that refuse to go away even after 3 root canals. I have to take this antibiotics and NSAID with it :(

If it helps, since developing T, I've been on four lots of amoxicillin (I'm a sickly person) and it's never affected my T. I wouldn't touch other antibiotics. My T was actually caused by the antibiotic doxycycline.

MOST people (and that includes the T sufferers) who take the medications that are on those ototoxic lists never have any problems. It's risky, but the chance that it works out is high.

If you can - avoid the risk, but of course if you feel like you can't avoid it, it's a different story.
