Double protection whenever you are outside, are you serious? This is bad for hyperacusis and bad for your overall ear health as it needs oxygen.

@Martinf I mean, maybe not when taking a walk in the woods, but when being in public places, walking down streets or such, then definitely, you don't want to put the health of your ears in other peoples hands. We can get enough sound enrichment in our homes, we don't need to be exposed to +80dB city noise to have hyperacusis under control.

I've felt the true wrath of severe hearing problems. I have a hard time determining more cruel medical conditions than this. You don't want this to worsen, the risks are too high. Then you choose double protection, or at least single protection, when outside. No compromises.

It was a kia picanto car and I was just passing infront of it I just hope it is the stock horn and not a custom one. If it is stock horn it shouldnt be more than 107db at 1m distance

Oef, a Kia Picanto? the only thing I should worry about this car is that it is more sore to the eyes than to your ears;)

Thanks dude. I think it is just my perceived loudness is not normal due to my hyperacusis. I should learn how to relax and not stress too much. All my T spikes actually are from stress.

If the parents are both deaf the child has only 10% chance to get born deaf. Me, my mother at 60 can hear 19khz and me T with bad HL at 28!

I lost it at 6khz, only left ear where my noise induced loss was originally, only when I laid down on my left side, 30dB drop.
Came back slowly over 5 hours and overnight. T/sound fx got worse in both ears over the days afterwards.
I worked on an idling engine beforehand with earplugs, ...have done that before, louder than this, with the T and no issues.

I think many people have challenges hearing people speak in loud environments. That is pretty normal. I have extremely mild hearing loss in only one ear and the last time it was tested it was actually back in the normal range. But I usually surround myself with so much noise to block out the Tinnitus that when people talk to me I can’t hear them.
