@PortugalTheMan It seems you have the crystal ball:) It's now 1-2 and they really struggle to play decently against a very strong Italy, just like in the previous game against Portugal. It seems they've lost their mojo. Let's hope De Bruyne finds his magic in the remaining 30 minutes
@Tanni I wouldn't worry about that. England played quite solidly against Germany. I didn't expect your team to be that good to be honest, but Gareth Southgate really made a good effort to make the team a strong cohesive bunch. And that alone bodes well for the remainder of the tournament
@Christiaan Neither did we! I thought Germany would knock us out for sure. We have a very annoying habit of going out to teams that we really should beat (Iceland, anyone?) so you can never assume anything with us unfortunately :P
I still remember that game against Iceland @Tanni . What a game that was:) England basically dominated from start to end but Wayne Rooney really had trouble finding the net. But things might look differently this time for you and England. The semi-finals + final will be held at Wembley and with Raheem Sterling on fire, who BTW basically grew up near the stadium, the team will surely be ready to crush Ukraine
@Vassili Belgium has sadly lost big time against Italy. It was probably the last chance for them to win a big tournament, as the current ''golden'' generation consists of quite some players who have reached a ripe old age, like Vermaelen, Witsel & Maertens.
@Vassili Weirdly enough, I actually first heard of Estonia when the Netherlands played a match for the 2002 qualifiers against your country in 2001:) I remember that there was one guy who really stood out: Mart Poom.
He was also one of the few players who played professionally, if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, Russia is ok-ish. Physically strong, but they lack the players who are technically good. Andrej Arsjavin is one of those few players who is still greatly missed
I can see that you're a true soccer fan. You have lots of knowledge on the subject. That's great. When I was a kid I always played soccer with my pals but I never was a true fan. Now I just keep an eye on some sports news time after time.
@Vassili Even more so, I actually was a hardcore fan for a local football team and went to tons of matches. Since having moderate T, I watch the game on TV but still miss the sweet smell of ambiance in the local stadium. Anyway, are Estonians more ice hockey minded? I thought Baltic states are big players in that area of sports
