    Although this experiment caused full tinnitus onset, it was probably more than that. If you regularly used any type of headphones and listened to loud music, it wasn't bad luck. The tinnitus would have been there for some time but at a low level.

    @GCS Don't beat yourself up. When we've abused our ears, it doesn't take much to cause tinnitus. I was exposed to an 80dB compressor for 15 minutes, nothing out of the ordinary, but it was the straw that broke the camels back. It is a harsh reality, but we have to move forward.

    My problem was caused by an exposure that lasted a Fraction of a SECOND.

    Mine was seconds as well when I was attempting to mask a tinnitus that would have gone away anyway
