    @GCS There's a lot of people who blasted themselves with music and got tinnitus. I personally don't believe the causing event is important as we'd probably develop sooner or later. Seems we're just unlucky to have a predisposition in our brains to develop tinnitus. I ran a compressor for 15 minutes without any protection - that was stupid.

    very common. a lot of people dont know they have T, thinking its normal to hear slight ringing.

    Yup, my partner realised he had T once I developed it. He thought he had been hearing water in the pipes at night. Then he plugged his ears and realised it wasn’t the pipes after all. It doesn’t bother him though. But his is very mild.

    @GCS I was more trying to emphasise the fact that many people, regardless of how loud it is, have T.

    @GCS the hard part is that we have very little information about loudness, types and duration of tinnitus. I think the hardest part of all that we experience with the auditory system is not knowing. I would say among people who have tinnitus, it is common.
