@aura Yes, but I don't feel any vibration, so I am unsure if it's myoclonus. They're quiet, about 0-3 dB. Meanwhile the high freq ones are 40+ dB.

Yeah, I think there's no strong correlation between those two (THI was 92 back in July 2020). There's a theory that some brains are more susceptible to maladaptive neuroplasticity due to hearing loss than others (e.g. people with ADHD, autism, hypersensitivity, anxiety disorders, etc.)

I completely agree with @Christiaan. The problem is most likely in the predisposition of the brain. I have tinnitus in my genes. My audiogram is fine, yet this is blasting disproportional loud sometimes.

Anxiety makes sense, I am definitely prone to it. The whole thing happened because I was too anxious about my new Morse code T.

@Damocles I am a coffee snob, so this may be a good idea. I have 3 different kind of beans at home, a burr grinder and a pourover setup. The trouble is that I am sensitive to caffeine and can't sleep if I have more than 10 g of coffee (bean weight) per day.

Dude, same. I'm a TEA snob and I love Greens and Whites; however I too suffer caffeine sensitivity, so my max is 2 cups a day (and I frequently go over this, aka, overdose; then can't sleep for like 24 hours...)

I love good tea, too. We probably have more than 10 different kinds at home. Current favourites are Gyokuro and some Chinese Pu-Erh from Yunnan.

Foam plugs and foam pads on the ears. I don't recall the model, but it was 3T.

3T magnet, don't recall the model. Those will fit in the coil, but may not fit in the head immobiliser for brain MRI.

Thanks, but they are due to hearing loss, so they're exactly the same... I'm not very hopeful - I can't listen to complex music at all, the most I can listen to is mellow jazz (and even that has hissing drums).

Keep the faith. Although jury is out on the drugs efficacy their true aim is hearing loss

Auditory brainstem response. I managed to get to a good doc who knows her stuff. Minor abnormalities show neuropathy - IHCs/OHCs seem to be fine, but the signal does not reach my brain properly. And since it's noise induced, it's going to be synaptopathy as those are the first to go.

Is the ABR test loud?
Louder than the acoustic reflex testing?

It can go up to and including 90 dB, if I recall correctly.

you honestly will be fine if it's only ringing or static. It will get quieter without further loud noise, it might take a year or even more. 6-9 months seems the sweet spot for first timers.

It's multiple tones with reactivity and hyperacusis... Pretty trash :(

Not necessarily. I read your first post to this forum. You have noise induced tinnitus. I advise you stop using headphones, earbuds or headset for gaming. Don't use any of them even at low volume.
