That's a bit different though from my TTTS, because I only have TTTS in one ear. My TTTS is also a linear feedback and is independent of my mental state of mind. It has also directly worsened with both over-protection and under-protection.

I guess it shows how different the ear problems can manifest.

@danielthor When I think about it, my TTTS worsened to real bad after my setback in March, and so did my spiking, even though I protected my TTTS ear with a deeply inserted earplug. That may indicate that TTTS, while being in one ear, is a central issue. It's weird alright... hmm..

@Stacken77 I'm too early into this stuff to really say, but that theory does align with some of the other H stories I've seen. I wish there was a better way to know how and when to protect your ears.

Honestly, a sound like a light switch is enough to make my ears burn for a few hours.

@danielthor damn, really? I don't have many symptoms of TTTS...I thought that involved more of a fluttering feeling

I don't know your current circumstances @Foamearplugssuck. But I have double glazing and all my air vents sealed up for this reason.

I went through the same thing for years before this stroke of genius....

@Damocles not sure.....I’d have to take it up with my parents since I’m living at their house for the time being. But I’ll definitely look into it.

We should try and use this to our advantage. Can you even imagine how good music is going to be once you’re able to listen to it again? To rediscover the world of music? How many people in the world get to do that? Only those who have lost it will have this privilege. We will have this privilege!

@kuromi thank you, I love that song [and nurture] too! In a weird way it's nice to be able to hear it in my head since Porter's music has helped me so much. it's definitely better than really dissonant tinnitus too imo.

For what it's worth, I've had less and less of this ever since I stopped wearing earplugs most of the day.

hm that's interesting. definitely another point in the "wear earplugs less" camp.

My entirely unscientific theory for why it happens more when you plug up: the brain hears muffled sounds/songs/etc and tries to interpret them with limited information. It gets stuck in this process, recreating the sound over and over.

@Stacken77 usually I dont. lately though I hear a high pitched whistle whenever I flush the toilet, but that's the only sound my tinnitus seems to react to.

@Foamearplugssuck Has your baseline T improved anything since this post?

@Stacken77 I can't even hear my baseline T anymore....it was pretty quiet. I think my auditory hallucinations are masking it.

Residence under the bed would be easier to explain, @Exit.

@Stacken77 it's pain hyperacusis. and they were meeting at panera, which is a pretty loud environment. my hyperacusis is recent so I'm trying to take it really easy on my ears to let them recover as much as possible.

I’m very sorry to hear that. I only have some mild sound sensitivity that I have been improving by gradually increasing the tv volume over the past 10 months. I only use high quality speakers. Regular tv speakers make everything worse.

I found that using monitors made my symptoms worse. I think my ears are tired and need a good, long break from listening to things. Glad to hear your sensitivity is improving though!
