@Wrfortiscue I think that could be the case for some. In many cases, T is due to hearing loss, reduced input. I don't see how silence, at least over longer periods of time, won't simulate this effect. I believe there are studies affirming this in people with healthy ears too.
I think for healthy ears, tinnitus induced by complete silence is only temporary, and goes away when normal noise is introduced
@Exit I say this because my left ear squeak tone is sometimes quiet… put on plugs and it gradually builds louder and louder each time
If you’re plugging many hours every day it probably could get progressively worse.
I’m not feeling it like that at least. I probably have 1-2 hours with muffs over a day. What happens when muffed up is relative to the sound I have just before..
Sometimes it goes up, sometimes down..
@Wrfortiscue ,this is happening to mee too. I don't hear one of my sounds immediately after plugging my ears. It just become louder and louder gradually, but within a a minute , let s say.
The hissing, on the other side,it' s always there.
