It's tiring but we have to be strong. One day at a time friend!

Whenever I think about quitting, I think I have to do my best today so that my future is better.

Try not to look at it as defeat Stacken. Time off of work could be a step in the right direction

I'm amazed you've kept up a full time job despite what you've been going through @Stacken77. You have my full respect.

I think some time to rest and recuperate, in your case, is long overdue.

I agree @danielthor. At least I could let my baseline tinnitus rest and improve a little.

Thank you so much @Damocles for your kind words. I'm a bit surprised too, but time has just flown away. It has worked "alright", but yesterday I pushed my boundaries with too much stuff and got a bad spike. In just a week or so I'll sign the papers for "permanent employment", after that, my position will be safe and sound.

No shame in taking time off. I’ve been away from work since July. As @Damocles mentioned, It’s surprising you’ve managed to worked throughout your whole ordeal. Shows how tough you really are when it comes weathering the storm. Try to relax and keep your mind at ease. A break is long overdue.

I heard you like poker, maybe try some online poker. who’s know you might be able to make some decent money and may have a new profession to pursue on the side :D
Cheers and get well! I’m confident you will be able to rebound back.

I'm alright with Poker. Just please for the love of God don't start messing around with stocks.

Thanks @ZFire. I've pretty much mindlessly tried to power through and keep my job which I hold very dear. It has cost me a bit worse tinnitus, but not by a lot. I really hope for some better times ahead. And no, I don't think I'm fit for some competitive poker, lol. ;D

@Damocles Hahah, I'd say stocks and poker is pretty much the same thing; gambling with one's savings. I prefer to safely "earn" money than gamble my way to it. Every single time I've invested in stocks, I've got burned(last one was FREQ lol, still holding though). ;)

Exactly @Stacken77. I suppose the point I was trying to make with that remark, is that they're both gambling, but at least Poker is just straight up gambling, with no dress up or excuses.

Stocks on the other hand are gambling with respectability. They're a good way for people with a problem to hide the fact, and insist there's a "strategy" to it.

The only people who know THE "strategy", are the people that are running the whole thing... just like.. you guessed it: The Casinos.

    You’re good with cars right?

Is there any problem doing it myself?
Just the screws , swap it and close?

@Exit Hahaha, I'm so damn ashamed to shortly sign the papers for employment, and then probably immediately go on sick-leave, but as I see it, it's pretty much a matter of life or death, so I'll probably do it.

@Exit I've only worked on my Volvo 850, but should be the same. Oil filter; most likely located under the engine, take some pliers around the entire filter and get it loose, then remove it, have a bowl ready to catch the oil. Air filter; probably a box under the hood, open the lid, boom; replaced in a minute. Spark plugs can be done, but may need tools. If you haven't already; get a Hayne's repair manual!

@Exit So yes, everything can definitely be done by yourself. You save money and gain experience. I can't stress enough how great the Haynes car repair manuals are. I've repaired most things on my Volvo on my own, but not without the help from the manual.

@Exit To go on a tangent; last winter my Volvo failed the vehicle inspection(shit), so I had to fix and repair a lot of stuff; front suspension, break disc, break pad, a freaking a axle. All went well, laying in the cold on the garage drive way. Saved tons of money. :D

I toss so much money out the windows on my ear, so I’ll let those bastards change oil and sparks. But I’m not paying 100€ to change air filter:D
if it was a Testarossa then maybe!
I’ve been happy with my Ford although harsh summers without functional AC..

I’ve just found out my focus needs a new cam belt in 2 years after all.. I bought it because I’ve read lifetime. Then I found out they changed their mind and needs replacement.
    A 10 hours 2300€ job...
Going to try sell it next year and buy a Volvo V70 :)
