@kingsfan You may get a spike if you're sensitive to sound. But inner ear damage; highly unlikely if you wore double protection. 90dBa is very loud though. I can recommend using a Swiffer™ instead of a vacuum.

cool cool cool. I thought I was safe at the time, but then the anxiety kicked in later. I also got a nice Baratza coffee grinder which is louder than anticipated (80dba) and am hoping I can use it daily with the double protection.

Yeah @kingsfan, I forgot to mention that; it doesn't work on carpets. But for everything else, it has worked nicely for me.

There are much quieter vacuum cleaner nowadays. I have one which is supposed to be 57 db. Its very quiet and with ear muffs practical not audible.

@xyz yea mine is a powerful commercial one with a bag and hepa filter to get rid of all that nasty shit that flairs up my asthma

Electrolux ultra silence is a good and cheap vacuum!
On hardwood it sucks decent even on 30% power. I only muff because the mouth piece might slam the walls.
