Ugh. I’m sorry NYCGuy. I am hopeful that this is a step in your overall healing process. Though it’s extremely discouraging when the pain and sounds evolve, perhaps it’s a good sign that you’re doing something to the things that are causing these issues, and if you stay patient things will start to improve. Which NUCCA did you go to? How was the experience otherwise?

Hey @NYCGuy Did you have TMJ or dental issues previously? I saw a NUCCA and she was adjusting incorrectly for four months which caused my left shoulder to be out (with a lot of pain). I got a new UCC and he fixed that but it took a year for real improvement with neck pain/migraine. I am now going to be treated using Atlastprofilax next week. You should check it out..

Hang in there man. It sounds like you’ve recovered from TMJ pain before, and you can do it again. How long ago did you see the NUCCA and has the pain gone down at all?

@hartstreet I had TMJ but never a pain like this ever, this is my entire lower and upper jaw in the right side. I had TMJ with sensitivity to teeth and some jaw pain but very minor. I had two correction, one per week.

@LilSass I start with NUCCA because they said is was the one with less risk and the crazy thing, they even touch you, how with that slight touch they can do so much? I had an Atlas near by but they said they didn't have that much luck with Tinnitus and this guy said he did.

I have TMJ, well technically it's TMD but anyway I get Botox injections in the jaw a couple times a year and it helps a lot.

I believe the point of any treatment with the upper cervical is to get the atlas vertebrae back into it's natural position. If this is the cause of your tinnitus, than this would be the ideal treatment. NUCCA can take a long time, at least for some. It's almost impossible to get the atlas to stay in the proper position as any stress on the muscles, ligaments, etc. will continue to push it back out.

@Guywithapug How you describe your pain? Other said it may be TrigeminalNeuralgia and I hope is not the case. I feel like pain in the bone and all teeth are sensitive.

@LilSass I did two session and I will try two more, the issue is that because of Nucca, I have this extreme TMJ pain that I never experience in the past, is intolerable.

I hope that you get some relief soon from the TMJ and t. Seriously though, look up Atlasprofilax, I think I saw a practitioner in NJ.

@NYCGuy I would describe it as pain in the joint, clicking popping etc. Pain around the temples, occasional headaches and strained masseter and temporalis muscles.

I would think you'd know if it was TN, as something simple like touching your face would bring you to tears.

That sounds terrible. How long do you have to wait until your next NUCCA treatment? Hang in there!

After my 6th chiro appt I had bad TMJ pain and my tinnitus went louder. The pain has started to subside and the tinnitus too. I think its all part of the healing process. My chiro said as the muscles start to respond they could temporarily put pressure on other areas. I don't want to tell you to do something you're not comfortable with, but I would advise seeing it through. Healing seems to be very up and down.
