Play with your brain in a way in order to reduce H and probably T. He advised to discontinue after 10 days if I dont notice improvements. I also asked him about his study but he said they are only half way there yet and are changing some things along the way.

I made my situation 50 percent worse this last week - earplug damage which resulted in 50 percent higher tinnitus and I accidently scratched my ear canal with my otoscope and since then the other ear has higher tinnitus and lower sensitivity. So there is a big mismatch between right and left ear...

He advised that i might have touched a nerve there that is connected to the brain and it reacts since it is already sensitive but should not have made something permanent. However it feels like it... My T also keeps changing for worse - now there is 24/7insect tone

I would say go for it!

When i was at my lowest point i had to take Clonazepam. Just take 0.5 mg for one or two days.

I was feeling like Sara Goldfarb from "Requiem for a dream". Pure nightmare stuff.

@Damocles yeah, big time. I hear it over everything, like a morse code that it's trying to control my mind.

Do you know that feeling when you smell something really bad and the smell gets stuck in your nose? Well that god damn sound gets stuck in my head the same way.Then your senses sharpen and you feel overwhelmed by all the sounds around you to the point where you feel psychotic. Does it sounds familiar or am i the craziest around here?

If I were given these medications I would give them a try, but obviously you need to weigh the pros and cons for yourself.

@Freerunner Just curious, did you meet De Ridder in person or virtually?

Deanxit basically keeps me calmer so I think I am going to continue taking it. I am tapering of Clonazepam. It did make me go to sleep faster but that was it.

@Freerunner it just keeps you calmer or does it also lower T/hyperacusis?

@aura So far no effect in T and H. I just felt H might be better the first couple of days but this might be a coincidence/placebo.

Hi Freerunner, how are you doing? are you still taking Deanxit? if not, did you have withdrawn effects when discontinuing it? Dr. Ridder also prescribed Deanxit and I dont want to worsen my T & H. Would you recommend it to try?

@Diego LR , I was taking it for like a month and discontinued it slowly for 10 days after that. I think I had no side effects and did not affect my T and H but it made me calmer for sure. The decision is up to you to take my friend. I know it is listed as ototoxic, this is why I stopped it when I found out. I wish you the best.
