Maybe a little bit. Some say you shouldn't expect Keppra to do this, but for me, it really did seem to decrease the overall tinnitus volume. I'd say any decrease in reactivity was proportional to that overall decrease. Unfortunately I haven't taken it in years because it started to cause some serious headache pain. I have problems with chronic headaches to begin with though.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry to hear that. Are u in the camp of having hyperacusis as well and did it help with that? I know a lot of people believe reactive T to be a symptom of H. @fliesatnight

I do have some pain hyperacusis but it takes a moderately loud sound to trigger actual pain for me. I take extreme care to never expose myself to anything in that volume range so it's not really something I have an ongoing problem with.

But I do distinctly remember a time when I was experiencing some lasting, aching pain in both ears and the Keppra definitely seemed to help. I used to cycle on and off it pretty frequently back when I took it.

Very happy to hear it helped even to a small degree. How is your reactivity today? Improved I hope. @fliesatnight

Maybe a bit, thanks for asking. Again though the main mitigation measure for me is just controlling the volume level of the sound I'm exposed to as much as humanly possible. I rarely go out and always wear hearing protection when I do. I haven't listened to music at home in years.

I do still listen to music while driving which is more feasible since I'm already wearing hearing protection to begin with and I can adjust the EQ to make it less of a tinnitus risk, and I have to watch movies with my thumb poised to mash the volume down button in case anything is a few decibels too loud.

Listening to music in the car or watching movies sounds absolutely amazing. I hope I get to this point. 2 mo in and it’s been virtual silence for me besides my T and maddening. Happy to hear uve found what works for u.

Yes I’m finding that out as I go my T is reactive centralized and high frequency with some nasty metallic zinging/oscillation. I’ve been stuck in Fight or flight for many weeks trying to break that now. Thank u for ur kind words :)
