You'll get there bud. You know how it is - 3 steps forward, 2 steps back.

@UKBloke completely agree with you. Just been really down lately about this whole thing.

It is extremely unhealthy mentally, but I can’t stop looking at my peers and friends and thinking to myself that they “have it easy.” In reality, we all have our own battles that we struggle with. Just struggling real hard to think someone my age is struggling as hard as me right now…

@Matt G You're allowed to be down, especially because accepting this is not easy. Is there stuff you do during the day when you're not aware of the tinnitus?

@UKBloke yep, and I never really had a problem with accepting this until it started reacting to masking noises. Before that, T was quite manageable.

Yep, I work full time. The office has central air, and the vent is right above my cubicle. This noise makes it impossible to push my chirping T into the background because it reacts to it. This is also a new tone so it makes it doubly hard to habituate this time around.

@Matt G I can attest to reactivity adding complexity because I have it too (9 months in). Good days, not so good days, good days again. Are you able to move desks for a while if the office aircon is aggravating?

@UKBloke chirp was way less reactive and noticeable today! As you said, good days and not so good days…truly is a battle, but a small victory along the way really helps the mind.

Hi Matt, I just wanted to comment as I can relate.

My left ear has always been my worst. It is an aggressive hiss, but thankfully, over the last 2 years I have managed to habituate.

However, a few months ago my right ear started to chirp and reacts to exactly the same stimulus that you describe.

Like you, I'm struggling to habituate with this one, but I'll get there I'm sure. Hang on in there!
