Been taking small does of promethazine. Feeling that the T is worsening. Can it go away if you stop using it? Jan 21, 2024

Anyonehave experienced taking phenylpropanolamine before? Got it prescribed for Otis media. Taking it increases the tinnitus hiss sound

Fluid build up in the middle ear. It's increasing everyday. It's fully clogged so can't really hear. How long can you have it like this!?

@Stenis Try Dandelion extract. Might help for the fluid as a natural diuretic. To my own experience this can last a long time. I get it often. Often linked with sinus issues and a lot of mucus build up.

I've been having that issue since 2010, long before my tinnitus. Even had a brain MRI and saw many ENTs. Never found an answer.

Tried vit. D supplement before sleep. Feels like my hyperacusis and reactivity is much better.

20 µg. I try micro it to 10 µg. After waking up I get some couple of hours of feeling more sound tolerable. I do have low vit D levels since before. I checked with blood test to see my values

Got a new whizzing sound after fluid in the middle ear. Could it go always with time?

It's absolutely possible for it to go away over time. Best wishes my friend!

That's great preparation already, because those horrible foam earplugs they hand out over here should only be used for packing peanuts. If you're not good in small spaces, I'd recommend you take something to calm you down a little or else those 20 minutes are going to feel like an eternity to you.

Oh, not sure if this is helpful, but when I had my last MRI done I had a really bad cough. Because of this I was told my MRI would be done in installments, so < wouldn't mess up the whole thing if I had to cough. Maybe a couple of little breaks would make it easier for you / your ears as well...

Thx both! Feel fortunate that it just took 10 min. Painful but I feel like I really had good earplugs. The person working there said I should use their plugs because there could be metal in the earplugs that I bought. I was persistent haha it was mine plugs that or nothing. Never that I wanted to use those cheap foam ones
