@dennis_me you WILL be able to finish your studies. You’ve just be super strong and work through it. I developed tinnitus three weeks before my final uni exams. I passed with a 1st. I actually found throwing myself into studying was the best thing I could have done at the time. If I can do it, then so can you. X

Sorry to hear that @dennis_me. I can imagine med school being really tough. I'll just add that I managed to finish my final semester of software engineering studies and managed to get my bachelor's degree, despite steadily deteriorating tinnitus and hyperacusis. You can do this!

Ohh thank you very much @Steph1710 <3. I know that you are right and things are going to get better with time but it is still, 5 months in, really difficult to imagine habituation. This forum litteraly saved my life but also created a lot of anxiety reading posts about people not being able to habituate and living in hell for years :(

Wow, thank you so much for your reply @Stacken77 <3. It gives me hope to see, that other tinnitus sufferers managed to get through university. Congratulations!!! I hope I can write something similar in a few years :)

@dennis_me I had the exact same thing. This forum was fundamental in helping me understand what we have, and most definitely stopped me from making mistakes which could have made my T much worse. But, at the same time,

reading posts about people not being able to function normally and having to give up everything they have ever loved, really scared me too. BUT, you have to remember everybody's case is individual, and you like many people will carry on living a perfectly normal life once you’ve adjusted to your new norm.

I never thought I’d be in the position I am now. In fact, I hadn’t even given my T any thought until I stopped to reply back to you. So, like I said, one step at a time. Protect those ears, and get studying. Don’t let tinnitus ruin your dreams. You’ve totally got this! <3 :)

I'm sorry man. You can do it though, keep fighting, at 5 months you're still getting better. I'm at 6 months and can't believe where I'm at compared to months 1-3.
