    My theory is i was in an extreme state of panic, plus taking a corticosteroid, which heightens cortisol (Stress) caused some sort of glutamate storm (neurotoxicity) in my brain causes all

    sorts of issues mainly within the ear and brain. Almost the same effect as benzo withdrawals. Causing/Exacerbating existing tinnitus and sensitivity to sound. It could very well help hearing as well but A steroid shot would be far more beneficial. @ZFire @in_LA

    I think you’re on to something @Marshall . Steroids must have altered my GABA/Glutamate profile as I was also in a extreme state of stress/panic/anxiety too. Unless I have noticeable sudden hearing loss, I’m pretty much done with steroids of any kind.

    Bro I'd do anything to go back and not take the steroids and antibiotic ear drops i was prescribed. What sucks is when you're new to tinnitus it's the first thing you see when looking up how to get rid of it. And your at a point of doing anything to help.

    Agreed. Looking back now, I took my pre steroid tinnitus for granted. While it was intrusive, it was nowhere near as bad as after steroids. I wish I left it as it was. Oh well, won’t dwell on it anymore. It is what it is.
