I’m not sure exactly what works, but I struggle bad with anxiety too and recently purchased lemon balm, ashwagandha, and l theanine which apparently help with anxiety. Also, been reading The Power of Now.
I had this. The first 1.5 years, I was paralyzed by anxiety and fear. I thought of it as soul-sickness. I was on Olanzapine for 2 years because of it, but I really dont want to reccommend it - the side effects are too nasty. And it's a pain in the ass to get off them. Instead, try to focus on getting out and about, fresh air, keeping your mind busy and off the tinnitus. And don't isolate too much.
I'm gonna be 100% honest with you and say if you're already at a severe level (waking up anxious) there is likely no natural remedy that will help. the best you can do is therapy, coping skills and exercise. but if you're only moderately anxious maybe you can do without meds. I've had moderate to severe anxiety most my life and avoiding meds so I've recently come to terms that I need more.
@Lurius having anxiety and T can be a nightmare as they feed off one another. I definitely find keeping my mind and body active or moving doing anything helps me not too notice the T so much or at all. I just need a good old kick up the arse at times to get moving. It'll get better though, I hold onto that hope.
A natural anti-anxiety remedy is a walk in the green park. Next time you wake up early with anxiety, get a bottle of water and go sit in the park for a while. Pay attention to the greens, the trees, the birds, the sky etc. It will help you loads. Try it and and let me know how it went please. Good luck!
@tniuf I live close to some nature walks/canals so the next time that happens I'll just take myself off for a nice long walk and immerse myself in the beauties that nature surrounds me with and hope the anxiety somewhat diminishes. Thanks :-)
Yes, trust me, I know this so damn well. I was in a complete state of terror, crying more than not and reduced to a bumbling fool. Could barely speak, I was acting like a child that had been scared witless for over a year. I really hope you snap out of it, it's possible, you just need to find the strength to not the anxiety dominate you. Take charge and show 'em who's the boss.
@Shelbylynn yeah I do think I'm at the point of no return with the anxiety at times, I have good days and bad days. Doing CBT and positive thinking and trying to get out more but it's only doing so much. Med spiked my T to a level I'm uncomfortable with and that's making me more anxious. Can't win these days.
1st time mix of headphones chronic stress and tmj thrown in among other things, tinnitus was always mild. 2nd time listened to asmr/podcast on headphones during a low point( stupid I know wasn't thinking straight or at all) then amitriptyline ramped it up to a new level + MRI scan noise @tniuf
The causes you listed for the second time don't sound too bad, I don't see why you wouldn't recover from this. Out timelines and ages are similar. Mine was first in 2016 and second 2022, hope to get some intensity reduction or habituation at some point
