Hi there! To be quite honest I feel that after the first night or so of getting t the t went way down in volume and the amount of tones went down (I was hearing weird scary metallic noises) so I would say I did most of my healing in the initial aftershock. Two years later mine has remained fairly stable. Even with scary loud alarms and other accidents.
@diegooo I did go to a party recently that was somewhat loud but I wore plugs and took breaks and didn't notice a worsening(I would say i'm a little neurotic and careful though). So my advice for any events like that is to wear some sort of plugs and try to be mindful. It sucks but it's best while you're figuring out what your ears can handle. How are you doing now? hopefully your spike has subsided.
@Shelbylynn Honestly not doing too bad right now. I can't tell if it is back to baseline. I did not wear plugs to the party but I spent most of the time outside (according to my Apple Watch it was averaging out outside to like 83 decibels). I came into the house for a bit, noticed how it was a bit too loud, and left after like 8 minutes. ...
... I checked my watch data and at one point it apparently peaked at 104 decibels. It was mostly in the mid 90s range though. I'm scared this caused some damage but I can't really do much atm. I kinda want to avoid parties/drinking because I tend to lose my fear of tinnitus when I am tipsy. Idk if you can relate to that lol
@diegooo Well that's good, you're likely alright then. Yeah I can definitely understand. I kind of avoided parties for a while because it tends to be loud but for ones I made it and just use the bathroom for breaks or step away at times.
