How slow are you tapering? And how long were you on the medication if you don’t mind me asking? Benzo tapers have to be done very slowly as I’m sure you know. Although I’ve been able to go on and off them for years without any issues with my tinnitus. I would like to taper again but I’ve had a spike and I can’t do it right now.
Hi, right now I am micro tapering .005 per day. Unfortunately I cold turkey in 2020 after 4 years of .5 mg use, and when I reinstated due to a very small Spike, I got all these horrible electrical screeching noises. I didn't connect the two until months later when I just kept getting worse and worse. Since Jan.
It worsen when you restarted med. How long have you been off of it before starting again? Using a scale to micro taper? Figured I’d use a nail file + scale. Been able to taper down no problem in the past but I’ve been on it for 7 years when I first got T. T resolved after 1.5 / 2 years. I tapered off again in 2021, no issues then I got T back due to HL ( L ear only)
I was off of it for 1 year and 2 months. I don't think my brain had time to heal from the c/t and it either threw me into withdrawal or i had some paradoxical reaction. My doctor told me since I was having trouble tapering last time I could just stop, so I did. I was fine fortunately, but tapering this time I am having pretty severe withdrawal symptoms, even going slow.
each time you're on it, it's harder to get off. Once you get off of it this time, I would recommend never getting back on them. It causes permanent problems in some people, doctors downplay these drugs like crazy.
