I think one thing you could do is say that you've had adverse effects / allergic reactions to X drug in the past (even if that's not really the case). That could help to steer clear from drugs you're not comfortable trying.

I’m late, but @CRGC has the right idea here. If you’re weary of taking a specific drug that’s given to you, just say you’ve had severe allergic reactions from that drug.
