Everything I touch gives me chills. Holding a cold can of soda burns and my fingers keep pruning for no reason. I've tried eliminating all soaps and cleaners. I've tried several different eczema lotions and even petroleum jelly. Have a million fine lines all over my fingers out of nowhere. My hands get sore just petting my cat.
Is it contact dermatitis? My mum had that really bad. She wore thin cotton gloves practically all day for months. It eventually subsided. She also uses l’occitane hand cream, swears by it.
@makeyourownluck thats what I have been thinking, but I’m not making any progress with it. I’m trying to decide what kind of doctor to visit or if I should just go to urgent care and see what they say.
@kingsfan , is it just your skin on your hands and not your hands themselves e.g. neurological vs dermatologic? If the latter, try a dermatologist. I take dupixent for eczema. They would itch profusely if it was contact dermatitis or eczema.
@Forever hopeful I'm not sure if it might be neurological or not, which is why I'd like to get checked out. My hands aren't itchy at all. Petting my cat, who has incredibly soft fur, feels likes petting sand paper and leaves my hands sore and tingling.
I've stopped using lotion as it seems like it has just been making it worse.
@kingsfan, If the skin hasn’t changed in appearance and you’re not have any Itch or discomfort on the skin, I would say neurologist versus a dermatologist.
@Forever hopeful Well I was being a depressed bum and didnt shower for 4, maybe 5 days and my hands, though still pruning, were starting to feel better. I showered today and they are back to being bad. I think my shampoo and bodywash irritated them. it seems like it's a skin issue.
