Hi, Youre still very early into this which means your chances of tinnitus getting better are high. No sign of hearing loss is a good thing. Lay low for a while, don’t go to concerts and other loud venues in the meantime. And hopefully improve :)

You can have hearing loss over 8000 Hz

I did a home test for higher frequencies. I hear up to 17000hz.

I understand it's not *perfect* but at this time I don't believe I have high or low frequency hearing loss between the doctors test and that.

Also, has anyone considered attempting to sue music festivals for lack of awareness about the decibel levels and damage, or get a law in place you need to be notified of the risks before attending and the benefit of ear protection as part of the TOS when you buy tickets?

I'm assuming it's way over OSHA workplace standards (the exposure to the decibel levels) and I'm assuming the sound techs/roadies have to have protection on yet the audience is unaware damage is even occurring and predominantly unprotected.

I think I'm going to be looking into this and how doable it would be...I'm livid there was no warning given this was a possibility or that my hearing could be damaged.

Some people even had their kids with them, 200 ft or less from the stage, no hearing protection on anyone.

I wonder how many people that *always* had tinnitus really got it from too many loud concerts with parents who didn't know better.

Festival was Sea Hear Now in NJ. The EDM fests are an issue too but I think it would be easier to reform the non camping festivals than the camping festivals (I think they have a TOS about at your own risk though no specific mention of ear damage risk).

No one takes tinnitus seriously here in the states lol. Good luck trying to find a lawyer who would take on a case dealing with tinnitus. You would have a better shot if it involved major hearing loss though. There might be some precedent there. I know some family sued apple recently because their child suffered hearing loss after getting blasted by amber alerts while they were wearing air pods.

The people that have it do - I'm pretty sure I could cause the festival organizers some trouble with the right outreach methods. Maybe suing with a lawyer wouldn't work, but there are other ways. I'm not really after compensation. I want concert goers to not be unintentionally making themselves go deaf or worse.

I'm going to start with looking at the OSHA laws. I'm pretty sure the roadie/sound tech unions must have protection standards and the public is in literally in the same space with no awareness of this.

I saw a couple people's stories about how their hearing was damaged or tinnitus worsened by that. Glad to see they sued Apple. It's no joke. I feel terrible for that child.

Civil litigation would bring about meaningful change. Being rewarded for compensatory damages isn’t the endgame. It also means the emergence of new potential liabilities for businesses or these festival organizers. They will be forced to adjust their policies to prevent legal action being taken against them in the same manner.

I like the avatar picture btw. A delicious looking Asian dish (Korean?) and 2 animal crossing joycons next to it. It works.
