I flew recently. Used Earplanes, Peltor Optime III ear muffs, and paid extra for front-row first class seats. All good! My T is severe so I likely took more precautions than most.

@Bry I went from 8/10 T to about a 1 or 2/10. So, there’s so much hope for you yet. Focus on each day at a time. Force yourself to do things that you enjoyed before T (obviously with restriction - can’t do anything too loud). What worked for me was just getting out & trying to live as “normally” as possible. It helped so much with my T anxiety. You’ll be fine, just give it time. X

I hear it if I wear anything that either enclose or block my ears. I hear it in the bathroom unless the fan is going while I'm inside. I hear it if I don't have my tablet playing white noise under my pillow when I sleep. I hear it always.

for me, it was like a conscious decision to not let my T get in the way of living my life. like accepting that it may get worse, but choosing to have bad T over a half lived life. once I made that choice things got a little easier for me.

Habituation for me is I forget I have T until I am in a quiet setting then I can hear it loudly, and I almost immediately forget about it and continue doing whatever I was doing. It gets pushed to the way back of your conscious thoughts.

@Bry the anxiety will get better. The best thing you can do is just accept that the T is there. Me coming to terms with it, really helped my habituation. And no. Unfortunately my T is still there when I lay down now. It’s changed so much over these 2 years. Massive *hugs* to you. It will get easier. I thought I’d never cope, but I managed to, so you will too, eventually. :)

Weed and cbd are hit and miss. Some say weed hurts and some say cbd hurts too. Sometimes cbd helps t but I don’t see many cases of weed helping cuz THC is bad for t often. YMMV.

I wish I could say yes, but no, in fact it actually spikes my T and/or makes it super noticable esp if you pay attention to it. That said, sometimes I get so blasted that my mind gets so onetracked that it forgets about the T, even though I can still hear it. If that makes any sense lol.

      1. Jerad
        Jerad
Honestly, no. I think they’re working at a moderate pace, but not hard, cuz hard would mean the funding is there. I think there’s a small, devoted group of folks who really care abt curing these t and h problems, but bc the bigger medical and media communities don’t get behind them, they lose their power.
