I had the spinach (in a curry type dish) at 7 PM. went to bed at midnight. Did notice lower level before going to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was a level 3 compared with my normal level of 4/5. Could be just the placebo of expectation. or maybe anti-inflammatory? No spinach today so will compare levels and report back.

I certainly had 2 quiet days after that dose of spinach. Now it is back to normal levels. I will try again and see if there is connection because it could be chance. Spinach really not that special - high levels of magnesium and moderate levels of other nutrients.

I can accept that @Stuart-T. Sure enough, what's an exposé if it can't stand up to scrutiny.

OK I had 120g of spinach yesterday - noticing lower levels today. I am starting to think spinach is beneficial. Could be high levels of true magnesium - I don't seem to respond to magnesium in supplement form.

Woke to level 2 tinnitus this morning. I think it is certainly worth trying spinach but a decent quantity - fresh not tinned or frozen. Say 100 g - 200 g a day.

My spinach hypothesis. Anti-inflammatory properties. It convinces me my condition is caused by inflammation in the middle ear.

Thanks for the update @Stuart-T . I suppose I’ll give this a look then. Nice to hear you’re at level 2.

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you usually prepare your spinach?

I fry it up with onions. However - have been reading about oxalic acid and risk of kidney disease/stones and it looks like boiling is a better bet.

I left off spinach for 1 week and my levels certainly became a problem once more. I am now putting spinach in every evening meal about 80g at a time and really levels are lower. Probably anti inflammatory is the reason.
