Only sounds im exposed to on average is creaking noises from my chair, opening and closing doors, typing on my keyboard and talking to my parents. I sit in my room pretty much all the time so i have the opportunity to sit in silence as much as i like, but that clearly does'nt matter given the consistent worsenings despite being extremely cautious.
Also, whenever i do anything that my hyperacusis reacts to (Pretty much anything) i always make sure to cover my ears or just putting on a pair of earmuffs. So the possibility of it being noise related is just non-existent.
so you definitely are taking measures to prevent any kind of set backs your case is definitely unique man. I also suffered from reactive tinnitus since my onset so many unmaskable tones I even have the tuning fork one kinda sounds like a flute changing octaves every half second. I successfully had got most tones to die out and was left with a slight hiss but the flu has brought everything back
Including a drone humming. I just wanted to say you are a strong individual also being so young I sympathize man, I hope one day we can all be cured of this terrible condition
I have similar noises like you, 2 in my left ear and one in my right. They are very low pitched and are the most intrusive sounds by far, always fluctuating several times per second. I can make one of the fluctuating sounds in my left ear go silent if i like tap my teeth a couple of times, starts again after a few seconds. Repeat the teeth thing and its silent. Very strange.
Sorry to hear about the loss of such great progress, the flu is a bitch. The hissing sounds are the least intrusive in my opinion, sounds like a dream to just have them over everything else. I hope it goes back to just being a slight hiss for you man.
