It takes times. I have been mentally wrecked for weeks and created more tones. I was going to lose my mind. I would say that I have cyclical relapses now and then. I hope you get better soon!

@Guywithapug unfortunately this is what it sounds at it worst all the time. I only hear all of this mostly in silence, but it is still SO overwhelming. I can literally feel the buzzing in my ears. Only good thing is it’s lower volume, so I can use certain sounds to help mask or mix in with it, but cannot yet use normal fan as I still have spiking/reactive T

What I still don’t understand/hate is I had no hearing damage/loss in any freq under 12,000 hz in right ear and no hearing loss in left ear, yet I get these lower freq tones and beeps (980 hz- 2,500 hz) along with my in and out very high freq. hiss and pure tones. Like whyyy?!? :(

By the way you describe it I can certainly understand your suffering, occasionally ill have a bad spike day where I have to put my hearing aid in and turn it up to drown everything out. The auditory system is so complex and not fully understood that it's anybodys guess why things occur. Hugs!

@Guywithapug Thank you much. What range does your hearing loss start? I asked the TRT audiologist if she thinks trying hearing aid and testing out different types of things like turning up mid ranges or something else could help, but she was adamant about sound therapy devices and not hearing aids, at least “not yet”. What I need is a hearing aid that boosts 12k-18k hz but it doesn’t exist and never will.

Well I will tell you what I can hear out my left ear. Everything up to 2khz is fine 3khz - 6khz has a 60 to 70db loss. 8khz at 50db and can't hear over 10khz.
Have you had an extended audiogram done?

I know I've said it before but this is exactly how mine is all them sounds mixed together. 24/7 fax machine beeping, pure tones, hissing have no idea how it evolved into this shit.

@Guywithapug yes and I just posted it to the audiogram thread last night. Hearing loss/damage in R ear starting at 12k hz to 18k hz. To me, the only tinnitus I should have, especially in that ear, is in that range or maybe slightly lower, yet as I typed this I have a low morris code and buzz-like tone around 1,000 hz. Makes NO sense. I take .25 Ativan and 3.75 Remeron so idk if those have an effect. It’s so insane.

@Sammy0225 I am so annoyed and angry for the both of us. And of course, this sinus thing I’ve been fighting for over 4 weeks STILL isn’t gone. The ONE thing I tried to protect myself against is getting sick because that doesn’t let this shit heal, and just aggravates it. Can’t remember the last time I fought something in my sinuses for over 4 weeks, but you bet it’s happening now. So fucking tired of this shit.

@ErikaS I definitely understand how you feel. I'm so over this shit already. I'm also dealing with sinuses right now.. like come on god give me a damn break already. Like couldn't I have gotten fleeting Tinnitus for a few years before this shit. All these tones like we just left a loud rock concert. Fuckin baffled at this point

@ErikaS is the pitch still fluctuating to sound and stuff?

@Sammy0225 fluctuates the most to constant higher frequency sounds. My T is SO weird though- my sister stopped over to eat lunch and as we talk in the kitchen and her 3 year old talks and plays, I can’t hear my multiple tones, only slightly hear/feel the hiss in my right ear. But when she leaves and it’s more quiet, the tones become audible and all just sound aggravated with more energy.

@Samy especially when a tone will morph into something else then go back and forth, it’s soo distressing. I would do anything for constant 1-2 non-changing mid range tones!

@Sammy0225 I have many of those days and those same words come out of me so no need to apologize! With my known nerve damage/loss along with inflammation, I’m in the process of figuring what could maybe benefit me and really start healing. Stay tuned. Not giving up.

@ErikaS definitely love the positivity I had what you had for several months then some where along the line I developed TTTS and H. Thankfully both have improved but shit that was at snails pace

The TTTS probably cause stress and anxiety and H cause I didn't I kept pushing myself into uncomfortable situations outside the house. Loud motorcycles passing by or loud alarms going off.

@Sammy0225 its just not fair, so sorry you had to deal with one thing after the next. Everyone is so different, but sometimes I feel like I did myself a favor by not completely depriving of sounds because I haven’t developed H loudness or pain, but then again my reactivity isn’t much better so who really knows.

@Sammy0225 are you still mainly battling 2 tones? Or does it fluctuate and more come back and go in and out?

Definitely does suck I think a big factor was at my job to get inside my work station there was a mechanism that made a loud popping sound each time I badged in. It would make my ears clinch everytime. I feel this might have started the ear sensitivity thing @ErikaS

As for the tones most of time it's two tones but lately they all have been going haywire 3-4 tones with wine glass reactivity ugh I hate it Erika :(
