Electricity comes back though soon after I stop ;( .. so I emailed the Aud. who I completed TRT testing with and asked if there is any harm in listening to these beeps over extended periods of time if they seem to help while playing.. she said as long as its not loud, it is safe..
So now I am seriously starting to consider in ear noise generators that hook up to your phone and just play these beeps in my ears at low volume as sound therapy.. Tinnitus does not seem spiked and other tones not too bothered by it when playing and when I turn it off. Thoughts?
PS if there is a safe earbud thing out there that lets outside sound in/doesn't block ear canal that I wouldn't have to pay through the Aud. to get, LMK.
@MadeleineHope I want to be able to wear whatever it is out and about, almost like I had constant way like you do for sound therapy. Also want outside sounds to be able to come in normally.
Hi Erika can u explain what app you do this on and what is ACRN beeps. Sorry I’m looking for something to distract my persistent tone in right ear without sending my left ear nuts. <3
If you type in ACRN in the search box and go to the thread that explains it, there is a website they provide in the thread to try it, or, I use the TinnitusPlay app and it’s in the “Neuromodulation” tab. It’s essentially repeated 4 beeps set around your tinnitus frequency that you add to listen to over time to try to help your brain lower your tinnitus sound. @hopefuldede
Thank you Erika my tone has got louder and unbearable at night - thinking maskers myself now and sleep medication may be needed soon. I was hopeful but worsened rather than improved so far.
@hopefuldede I am so sorry to hear that. Do you just have one tone in one ear? do you deal with reactivity? If I didn't have reactivity, I would have jumped on maskers/in ear sound therapy months ago. Its the damn reactivity that holds me back, in many more ways than one.
I’ve a solid pure tone loud in quiet room and still noticeable through the day in right ear and varying tone ring in left ear. It’s reactive yes and turns staticky when reacting. Never used to be reactive though. In the past things like kitchen appliances masked it (air fryer, fridge) now the heightens it. What sleeping aids do you take. I’m wrecked this week x
@hopefuldede Im sorry to hear :( for sleep I do 3.75mg of Remeron, Magnesium Calm (powder you mix into water and drink), and 3mg melatonin. Very thankfully, my tinnitus at baseline is normally like 3-4/10, like last night it decided to randomly get more mild before bed and I slept in silence...
@hopefuldede The two nights before though, I had to have ACRN beeps on and the wall air unit on very low because it sounded and felt like my ears were having an epileptic fit.
