You can’t ignore something you’re trying to ignore. doesn’t make sense does it? Doing anything for the purpose of distracting yourself away from the noise actually only brings your attention back to it. Just go about your life as you ordinarily would, when you notice the noise briefly engage it with a ‘fuck you’ or a ‘hello’ and go back about your business
