Hey @Nick47 , just read your post about Deanxit. Glad it seems to be of benefit to you. Unfortunately, that and the two meds in it seem to be unavailable in the USA for prescription. I feel like if I don’t do an AD, my next move may be Keppra if a neurologist will agree.

@Nick47 if I could get my hands on Keppra today I would start it. However my psychiatrist cannot prescribe it (he did say he has no problem with me trying it as he recommended Lamictal before) and neurology appointment is very far out at this point.

I feel like you have said this before, but if someone asked me what my ears/sounds sound like, I would describe it as electric epileptic fits of high, mid, and low frequencies. This is NOT “normal” tinnitus. Any I worry about a benzo making it like this over time. @Nick47

Yes the epileptic fit of noise. Kettle the worst. Well if only I could see a MD soon. I know what I want to try. But like a migraine you may have to try a few medications to find one that gives a benefit. Carbamazepine on my list

@Nick47 Any reason to go Carbamazepine over Keppra? Lamictal and Carba. have that same rare side affect of Stevens-Johnson syndrome which I know is rare, but I can fill a handful of very rare things that have happened to me over the past year so I am trying to be as cautious as I can.

Well if I dont try I wont know. There are studies that show 50% of those that respond to lidocaine respond to Carbamazepine. I'm not worried about rare side effects I'm worried about access to a MD

Well I hope you get that access soon. I will let you know if/when I see someone about Keppra. Would love to just order the Dr. Shore device to my home at a "name your price, Susan", rather than pile on the meds, but we only have what is available to us!
