You've taken the best first step which is banning him from the internet. Anything to take the focus away and live as normally as possible is the way to go. I felt my ENT was pretty useless he left me with more questions than answers. I have been to see Dr. Sara Jagger at the American Institute of Balance twice. She has T also so can definitely relate to what he's going through.

I downloaded the WhiteNoise app that has the full spectrum of sounds and was able to find one to give me some relief. My T is hearing loss related though I think in the scheme of things it's pretty mild, although at first you couldn't have told me that. It does sound like he is going through what I did but over time it does get easier.

I still have days where it's really annoying but I don't wonder how I'm going to live with it anymore. I can even zone off of it sometimes and completely forget about it. I know I had a really hard time and dumped on my wife all the time. I know she has a good friend she talked to about it to help her because there were times she just didn't know what to tell me anymore.

I read a lot of success stories including those with far worse T and the pulsing T that kept saying the same thing: give it time. There isn't anything you can do about it so you just have to ride it out. I also read Dr Hubbard's story and considered CBT but at this time it's not something I have pursued. Maybe it's something he should look into. I'm not sure of any support groups but a quick google search may help.

I think other than the when I wrote my success story and the occasional reply to it are the only times I have been on the site for the last two months. However at first I was on it all day at work just reading the success stories over and over again hoping my day would come. It took me three months to be able to sleep at night again for more than a few hours at a time but I was dumb and didn't mask it.

There really isn't a lot you can do other than be supportive and understanding. I hope this helps. I've written a lot and probably rambled a lot too. Definitely check out Dr. Hubbard's posts though. One I read stated that 98% of people habituate in 6-18 months which helped give me some confidence.

That's the biggest thing is that you lose confidence that life will be the same and everything will work out. Well, it will for him. I didn't think it would for me and things are much better and I'm confident that they will continue to get better. If you think of any other questions definitely ask.
