I do not know what caused this in my left ear but it is not fun. I have had MRI done and all is good. Going to a cardiologist this month to have the heart checked and see what they say. Like most of you nights are the worse I do sleep but when I wake up it is horrible until I get around noise or plug into music. I cannot believe that there is no fix for this the ear doctor basically said "learn to live with it" gee thanks dr. What I would like to know is why does the sound change at times and seems like for no reason can go from a quiet pounding to a whistling sound. I understand it is my heartbeat and this is why I am going to a cardiologist. Enough have a good day.Interact
