There's many bad people on earth who don't have T. Why did I get it? Why bad things happen to good people?

Because sadly, life isn't fair. You can be a bad person and lead a happy, easy life. Or a good person and have a difficult life. And also, there's a lot of gray area between good and bad.

I don't believe it has anything to do with weakness but more so a different form of damage.

Schools. why don't they teach children more about life problems. Once you graduate high school its a different world. Tinnitus, cancer etc

You'll forget most of the stuff you had to force into your memory but the tough times that high school gives you, you wont forget those and those are life lessons. One way or the other, it teaches you that no stranger out there will be there 24/7 to help you out. You're all alone when it comes to taking care of your life, my experience.

I just donated to Stanford University for the cure of hearing loss/tinnitus. I will do it monthly, besides it's tax deductible so why not?

Depends what organizations, but I think hearing loss might be worthwhile. I believe that curing hearing loss will cure many people's tinnitus. Not sure if a cure for either is in the near future though, or that lack of money is the inhibiting factor in the research.

@bill 112 exactly or have it be one of their daughters or sons and they cant do anything to really help. You can't take no chances with tinnitus either you protect your ears for life or risk making it louder. For diseases or symptoms you can take medication to help sleep etc but for tinnitus you also risk it getting worse by taking medication. Also there's nothing that eases tinnitus.

@Amber I went to stanford website and I really like what they are doing. I'm going to donate to them. They do say they need more funding because most people don't fund for hearing as it is not deadly. Wish everyone would donate at least 1 dollar it really makes a difference.

Before I was just a girl, now I'm just a girl with tinnitus. You look at me and see a healthy, beautiful and happy girl. The reality is deep inside im miserable. This noise follows me eveywhere I go. I look in the mirror and I don't see tinnitus, but I hear it. I look thru photos of mine and point out the ones where I didn't have tinnitus. I walk around and look at people with their prefect ears just going on with their lifes, not knowing tinnitus could happen. Right now I'm in tears. Why? Because I've always taken care of myself. I eat healthy, I don't take any medication even when Im sick and I workout. Maybe just maybe I should've done a little more research.

Btw I only have tinnitus on my left ear
