Does it have to be an either/or? Can not someone be in favor of both? As with a more standard physical ailment, habituation is like taking a pain killer to cope with the symptoms (I know, habituation does not actually alleviate the symptoms) where treatment is removing the cause. Habituation is a great place to start as it may be more easily achieved, but treatment is what we should all strive for.

Hey Kolisar! Either I suppose - I agree, habituate if you can and when an effective treatment comes - pro-treat! Hope you're well!

Saying that, I know people with tinnitus who wouldn't pursue treatment if it was available tomorrow!

I can kind-of understand people who area hesitant to seek treatment. Having had tinnitus my entire life, while I want my tinnitus to stop, I am seriously afraid of how I would handle actual silence; having never experienced it I am afraid that I may actually panic when facing silence.
