I suggest you first see an ENT Dr for tests. If they are okay, then get a referral to a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist, trained in tinnitus and hyperacusis. I believe your case needs professional help.

I've seen an ENT and everything has been okay. So I guess the next step is to see an audiologist. Have you had symptoms like this
    ?

I have had similar. You need to see a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist. Make sure they specialise in Tinnitus and hyperacusis treatment. If they don't, then keep looking. You need professional help....

I will seek professional help, it has been going on sometime. But seeking help now will be better than not at all. You say you've had similar symptoms as well... did it sound external as well?

So say for instance a fan causes this sinewave sound. The sinewave sounds like it is being produced from the fan not my ear, does that help?

Sorry I still don't fully understand you. It doesn't really matter. Try and see the specialists that I have mentioned.
    Good luck.

Haha okay. Last shot, so the sinewave sounds that i hear in reaction to sound, sound like they come from outside of my head, rather than in my ear or inside of my head. If you don't understand now, nevermind. But thanks for your advice

No two people experience tinnitus the same. The sounds that you hear are coming from your "Brain" not your ear. Many people think the sounds come from their ear and this is not the case. It can feel as it the sound is coming from outside your head, but again this is not the case. If you are new to tinnitus this is a common mistake. Try not to worry. Read my articles on my "started threads" and see specialist.
